Definition
Neck pain, also known as cervicalgia, he is a common problem, with two thirds of the population having neck pain at some point in their lives

Causes
• Muscle strains; Poor posture, from leaning over a computer or cell phone.
• Osteoarthritis, wear and tear of neck joints with age.
• Nerve compression: disc herniation or bone spurs can progress on the nerves coming out of your spinal cord.
• Injuries: rear-ended, motor vehicle accidents, and caused whiplash injury, straining the soft tissues of the neck.
• Diseases: Rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis or cancer can cause neck pain.

Symptoms
• Pain that is often worse in my holding the head in one place for long periods
• Muscle spasm and tightness
• Difficulty moving the head
• Headaches
• if the pain spread down the arms with numbness weakness or tingling, seek medical advice immediately.

• History and physical exam
• X-rays, CT scan, MRI or EMG and helps to make the diagnosis.
• Diagnostic Facet or medial Branch blocks
